Dr. Kerem AL

After completing his medical education at Gazi University Faculty of Medicine between 1998 and 2004, he worked as an emergency department physician until 2018. During this period he turned to exploring methods that go beyond the limits of modern medicine and offer a more holistic view of human health.

This search introduced him to the ancient wisdom of acupuncture and classical Chinese medicine. Between 2015 and 2019 he completed Iida Shigemi's “Shamanic Approaches to Illness” training, deepening his knowledge of approaches that place physical, mental and spiritual balance at the center.

In 2018 he received basic acupuncture training at Gazi University. In 2019 he then expanded his expertise by taking part in advanced acupuncture programs in three different East Asian countries:

• Nanjing University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (China) - 3-month advanced acupuncture program
• Taipei City Hospital (Taiwan) - 1-month clinical training program
• 1 month of clinical work with Dr. Takuma Yoshizawa in Kyoto, Japan

His commitment to professional development continued in the following years. In 2023 he hosted the Japanese acupuncture specialist Dr. Takuma Yoshizawa at his clinic in Urla and received four weeks of training in advanced techniques; in 2024 he received “Traditional Moxibustion” training from the Japanese healer Iida Shigemi.

At the clinic he founded in Urla in 2020, he focuses on acupuncture practice, combining his medical education in Turkey with the knowledge gained from the advanced acupuncture training he received in Taiwan, Japan and China.

Alongside his clinical practice, he is the founder and scientific curator of Qiboo.ai, an evidence-based research platform that screens the acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine literature and subjects it to scientific evaluation. The platform makes more than 94,000 indexed studies accessible to physicians and patients, with GRADE evidence ratings.
